In Davos, Switzerland, key aspects of the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula were discussed at a meeting of national security and foreign policy advisers to world leaders. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine, according to .

The meeting was the fourth in a series of similar events launched in 2023. This time, it brought together a record number of more than 80 representatives of states and international organisations to discuss the prospects for achieving sustainable and comprehensive peace in Ukraine.

The previous consultations in Malta addressed the first five points of the Peace Formula, which included nuclear and food security, the release of prisoners, and the restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty. In Davos, five additional points were presented: the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, the restoration of justice, environmental security, the prevention of escalation and recurrence of war, and the confirmation of the end of the war.

What are the results?

Following the consultations, Switzerland and Ukraine, as co-chairs of the meeting, adopted a joint press communiqué calling for increased peaceful efforts to end the war and overcome its consequences. The key emphasis was placed on the fact that Ukraine’s security is part of global security, and the end of the conflict is an important element of global stability. It is suggested that a global summit be held to develop a unified peace plan and its subsequent implementation at various levels of government. The next step could be a summit meeting.

“This meeting laid the necessary preconditions for preparing a meeting of leaders of countries and governments, which can give a high-level start to creating a common and universal framework for a shared vision and ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula,” the communiqué reads.

At the same time, the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, who headed the Ukrainian delegation to Davos, admitted that there is still no common position.

It would not be entirely true if I said that absolutely everyone has the same position. And this is good, because, as you know, the uniqueness of the Peace Formula lies in the combination of different positions and approaches. But we are extremely united around the main principles based on international law and the norms of the UN Charter… We still have a lot of work to do, but we are all on the same page, he said.

According to the press service of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak emphasised that:

“President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team will not agree to any form of frozen conflict on the territory of Ukraine.”
