Andriy Shevchenko goes to UAF without a team and programme, it’s complete nonsense – Smolovyi

Andriy Shevchenko , a candidate for UAF president, has not presented his team, future vice-presidents or programmes a few days before the electoral congress. Under such circumstances he is unlikely to succeed at all. This opinion was voiced by sports journalist Mikhail Smolovyi on the air of the programme “TaToTake”, informs .

“This is complete stupidity, if you approach the solution of the issue in this way, then (Shevchenko) will not get anything. This must be understood on the shore. Because first a team is formed, first people are united by some vision, some thought – how do you want to develop football, what do you see as priority steps, you are already preparing for the first weeks and months of work in these positions (president and vice-presidents), and now nobody knows who will take these positions. There is no short-term strategy, there is no medium-term strategy, there are only slogans.

It is unprofessional when you get a position, you have to fulfil important administrative functions, make the first steps, and you don’t know who in your team will do it.

It’s not a good look for football, it’s not right to start like this,” Smolovyi said.

As you know, Andriy Shevchenko became the only candidate for the post of UAF president while the head of the association Andriy Pavelko is kept in a pre-trial detention centre in Lviv.

The election is scheduled for 25 January.

Another former footballer Roman Zozulya wanted to stand for election. However, according to him, he was “made to understand” not to do so because the appointment of Shevchenko was decided in advance.
